Institutional Resilience in the Age of AI — 30-Letter Governance Series, 6 Stages
I institutionalize AI governance where governance failure carries real consequence.
Where Would You Like to Begin?
Perhaps something in the introductory video caught your attention. Or perhaps you arrived with a particular interest or question already in mind.
Whatever brought you here, I have organized several ways for you to explore my work. You are welcome to begin wherever you wish.
I invite you to explore actual organizational engagements, beginning with the circumstances as they were originally understood. Follow what emerged through further conversations, observations, and discoveries, and consider how those experiences might relate to situations within your own organization.
The EdgeQuest Global Systemic Organizational Health Index (SOHI) is an organizational health assessment that invites executives to examine their organizations across nine interconnected dimensions.
If you would like to learn more about the assessment, explore what it examines, and consider what it might reveal about your organization, I invite you to continue.
I invite you to examine selected professional engagements across different industries and organizational environments. Explore the circumstances encountered, the responsibilities I assumed, the actions taken, and the results achieved. Each experience offers an opportunity to understand not only what was accomplished, but also what contributed to making those outcomes possible.
Perhaps you are considering a new initiative, examining a situation within your organization, or simply exploring an idea. Whatever has prompted your interest, I would welcome the opportunity to hear about your experiences, understand what you are considering, and explore the questions that matter to you.
What if some of the most important conditions shaping your organization are the very ones your reports cannot reveal?
Explore my 30-letter Governance Series, where I examine hidden organizational patterns, challenge familiar assumptions, and introduce different ways of understanding governance, leadership, and institutional resilience.
Real Organizational Experiences
These experiences began with situations that appeared to have reasonably clear explanations. Yet as conversations continued, additional perspectives emerged, assumptions were examined, and previously unseen conditions became visible.
I invite you to follow these experiences as they unfolded, consider what changed along the way, and reflect on what similar discoveries might reveal within your own organization.
When Technical Expertise Was Not Enough
A Major South American Financial Institution | 1998
A $6 million technology initiative had made little progress after nine months. The institution was preparing to cancel its equipment order.
What would you want to understand before entering this situation?
Professional Accomplishments
Throughout my consulting career, I have worked with organizations across different industries, addressing situations involving technology, operations, organizational responsibilities, and business performance.
The accomplishments presented here reflect selected engagements, the circumstances encountered, the responsibilities I assumed, the actions taken, and the results achieved. They also provide an opportunity to examine how technical expertise, organizational understanding, and practical implementation contributed to those outcomes.
Restoring a Revenue-Critical Contact Center
Chicago | Contact Center Service Restoration
A critical inbound telephone service disruption had resisted approximately a day of technical investigation. The client reported revenue losses of approximately $1 million per hour.
By extending the investigation to an external service provider, I identified an unexpected configuration omission following a routine reset and coordinated restoration of service in approximately half a day on-site.
Improving Military Contact Center Operations and Readiness
A U.S. military contact center faced limitations in operational reporting, information access, call routing, and communications capabilities.
I introduced improvements that expanded operational measurements, reduced routine agent workload, strengthened time-sensitive communications, simplified call navigation, and accommodated operational exceptions.
These changes provided greater visibility into contact center operations, improved access to information, and strengthened the organization's ability to respond to operational needs.
Developing Operational Capability Across 125 Network Operators
Customized Technical Training That Improved Workforce Capability and Network Operations
At Electronic Data Systems (EDS), network operators were experiencing difficulties using an IBM network-management application, limiting their ability to perform their responsibilities effectively.
I developed a customized technical training program for 125 operators, using the organization's actual network infrastructure, applications, operating procedures, and recurring support challenges.
Within days, the support center director reported improvements in employee morale, operational problem handling, and personnel attitudes toward the technology. The engagement demonstrated how workforce development and practical training can improve organizational performance without replacing existing technology.
Begin a Conversation
Sometimes a conversation is the beginning of seeing something differently.
Every organization has its own circumstances, priorities, and challenges. Understanding those circumstances begins with listening, asking questions, and exploring perspectives that may not yet have been considered.
Whether you are navigating a particular challenge, considering an important decision, or simply seeking a broader perspective on your organization, I welcome the opportunity to have a conversation.
There is no predetermined conclusion or obligation. The purpose is to explore what matters to you and determine whether a further discussion would be valuable.
